The Toy Book

Lily is gearing up for Christmas too! We got the Toys R Us toy book and the Target toy book in the mail this week and as soon as she saw them she sat right down and went through them page by page. I couldn't believe how intently she was looking at the pages, it was so cute I had to take a picture.

Sneak Peek

I am working on the Christmas projects and here is a little peek since I can't really post pictures of finished projects until after Christmas so I don't ruin any surprises.

Manger

Baby Jesus in his little manger

These are some fabrics for the next projects on my list. I am really excited about these and hope they turn out as good as they look in my head.

Love this fabric and it should be perfect for aforementioned project.

This is why I pay for a photographer

Trying to get a picture of them in their Halloween outfits. This was the best one, I tried outside but Lily wouldn't hold on to Hannah so she kept trying to crawl away. Then I had to bribe Lily with a lollipop and Hannah kept trying to take it.
This is a little sneak peak of their Christmas dresses that "go" together but aren't the same. Hannah's has a big red snowflake on it and Lily's has white snowflakes around the bottom. They are so cute but again won't sit nicely for me. Hannah is looking in this picture but not Lily.

Then Lily is looking in this picture (with some sort of growling look) and Hannah isn't. I don't know why I even try anymore.

Speaking of Christmas....

So, as I sit here working on some Christmas presents I got to thinking what others would think about receiving handmade presents. As I got some GREAT ideas (at least I think they're great ideas) for gifts for this year I thought it would be kind of neat if I could make some of them. I am not totally lacking in the craft deparment (maybe a little in the motivation deptartment) and I love doing these types of things. Like I said, now as I sit here working on some of these gifts I can't help but wonder/worry if the receivers will think they are as great as I do. So if anyone actually reads this, what would you think if you got a handmade Christmas present given with the greatest of intentions?

There's No Place Like Home

No, Lily isn't going to be Dorothy for Halloween, these are actually her Christmas shoes. The dress I ordered isn't here yet so I am really hoping these match, I guess we'll have to wait and see. They are so pretty and sparkly, she loved them as soon as she saw them and immediately dubbed them "princess shoes".

She even got them on all by herself.....close but not quite right.

There we go, now they're on the right feet.

It's that time again

Time to start thinking about Christmas and presents. Each year I try to get all the gifts bought early so I don't have to run around at the last minute. Each year I come pretty close to accomplishing this but usually end up with one or two last minute things I need. However, this year I am going to really try and have everything done at least 2 weeks before Christmas so I can relax and enjoy some family time. I am also going to try and make some of the gifts this year. I've got some great ideas and while I do believe I have the ability I just need to find the energy/time/ambition to get them done in time. My track record isn't so great as I still haven't finished the blanket I started for my dad about 5 years ago. I think that I am starting early enough though that I can do it this year.

Christmas in September

Ok, so it's a little early for Christmas but I just finished knitting these pants for Hannah for Christmas and wanted to make sure they fit. The shirt was actually one of Lily's that I saved and it matches perfectly. The pants fit perfectly as long as she doesn't get too much taller. Now I am working on some pumpkin theme ones for both the girls so they can match.....I love making them match.
