I love this baby

Hannah is my little old man. She makes some of the most serious and funny faces all at the same time. She has gotten very grabby lately and always wants whatever anyone else is holding. She loved the shiny packet from Lily's fruit snacks the other day and I just couldn't resist and had to take pictures of her expressions.

I think this is my favorite

This is her 80 year old man with no teeth look

Mom, why are you taking pictures of me?

Lily's Halloween Dress

I got a fancy new sewing machine last month called a serger and have just been playing around with it using my scraps. I finally decided it was time to make something useful with it so I got out my Halloween fabrics, then went to the fabric store and bought some more Halloween fabric and today I made this dress for Lily. I didn't really use a pattern and pretty much winged it while comparing it to a similar dress I have and it turned out pretty good. I made lots of mistakes and my seam ripper became my best friend but hopefully the next one will be a little easier. I didn't finish until Lily was already in bed for the night so she hasn't gotten to try it on yet but hopefully it fits.

Lions and Tigers and Bears

We went to the Metro Richmond Zoo this weekend. It was supposed to be 86 and cloudy so we were thinking it wouldn't be too bad walking around. We were wrong! It was definately 86 but I saw very few clouds, just lots of sun beating down on us so it felt pretty warm. Hannah was a good sport and just sat in the stroller and played with her toy cow. Lily had a pretty good time and liked all the animals. We did see a lion but he was being lazy in the shade so not too exciting. There were black bears and they were pretty neat. However, Lily absolutely loved the tigers and I think she could have stayed there watching them all day. They would walk right in front of the glass window so they were nice and close. We also saw a bunch of different kinds of monkeys, penguins, giraffes (we got to feed them too), camels, llamas, and more I'm sure I'm forgetting. Colin and I were actually quite impressed with the array of animals they had and I'm sure we'll be back since it's only 20 min. away and we had such a good time.

This one is for my dad

My parents will buy clothes for the girls every so often and I am pretty sure that my dad has influence on exactly two of these purchases. The first would be the onesie in this pictures. It is a pink New York Yankees onesie that also came with matching booties. Lily wore this and now Hannah has the privilege. The second would be a John Deere onesie that was also Lily's but should fit Hannah perfectly some time this winter but I'm sure we'll have to put it on at least once for a picture.

The Chips

During our little Birthday celebration last weekend Kayla and Lily found the chips. This was after dinner (which Lily ate none of) and during the present opening. They were quite content to sit there and eat every last crumb off the plate. They weren't too happy when I took it away either. However, Buddy was ecstatic at all the crumbs he got to lick up off thefloor.

Teeth

Hannah has her firs two teeth. It's taken me weeks to get a picture where you can actually see them. The first one came in about two weeks ago followed by the next a few days later. Lily was pretty easy when she was teething, maybe a little crankier than normal but Hannah was really unhappy. We also happened to be down at The Beach visiting Lovie when the first one came in and she made the night pretty miserable for everyone. Hopefully the rest won't be quite as bad.

Lily & The Potty

This is one of those picture that I am sure she will hate me for when she becomes a teenager but I just couldn't resist. I have been trying to get Lily to sit on the potty a little more often (even though nothing happens) and sometimes she's okay with it and some times now. This morning she was all for sitting there but she had to have her toothbrush with her. We seem to still be quite a ways from actuall using this potty but we are getting there. Oh, and I also found her later that day standing over the big toilet with the lid up and tooth brush in hand. We then said good bye to the Dora toothbrush as it was thrown away....ewwww!

Friends

Hannah loves to watch Buddy. She will just sit and watch him walk around completely fascinated. Buddy loves the girls mainly because they tend to drop crumbs where ever they go. The exersaucer was pushed up against the couch right by where Buddy likes to lay so Hannah stuck her hand out and Buddy obliged by moving slightly closer to she could pet him. Buddy will also do anything these day to get a little attention....poor Buddy.
