Fluff Friday (late again)

This weeks give away at The Cloth Diaper Whisperer is a 3-pack of Smartipants pocket diapers. These are one size diapers with a snap down rise. Normally I am not a big fan of one size but lately they have been growing on me. I haven't tried these yet but have read some great reviews. They are also running a great introductory price on 3-packs right now on their site.

The Pudge...

AKA Hannah. She's not really that pudgy but she's got some rolls and the name has stuck. She had her 6 month well baby visit today and is 15 lbs. (25%), 25 inches (25%) and her head is 42 1/2 cm (50%).

Oh The Cheesy Goodness

Lily is becoming a very picky eater these days and one of the few foods she will still eat is Macaroni and Cheese. All my life I have been a faithful blue box Kraft Macaroni and cheese eater and the thought of making my own has never before crossed my mind. However after watching Lily consume this meal for the third day in a row I started to think that all of that processed, powdered, glow in the dark cheese may not be so good for her. So off to my new favorite online resource, never met in real life, person I went. The Pioneer Woman is one amazing resource for lots of "stuff". I had seen her recipe for Macaroni and Cheese before but I decided it was time to give it a try. I just pulled this out of the oven and it is fantastic, I had to give it a try right away. I tend to use less seasoning than recipes call for but for this one I would definately not be afraid to over season.

Fluff Fridays

I follow a blog that is written by the owner of a cloth diaper store and every Friday they have a giveaway on their blog. You can do different things to get entries into the giveaway each week. I haven't won anything yet but I am determined to keep trying. One way that I have gotten an extra entry is to post their "button" on my blog (you can see it at the bottom right of the page). Another way is to post about the giveaway each week. Soooo, every Friday (I know I'm late this week) will now be Fluff Fridays so I can try and win some stuff.

This week The Cloth Diaper Whisperer is giving away some BabyKicks hemp doublers and inserts. I haven't tried thier doublers or inserts (although I do want to) I do have one of their prefold diapers and it works great and is very absorbant. I have been wanting to get some hemp inserts to try at night time for the girls since they are both heavy wetters and leaking out of every diaper I try, including disposables at night.

Lily's First Haircut

Lily still doesn't have a whole lot of hair but what she does have was wild and 5 minutes after I combed it, it would be sticking up all over the place again. So, off the the hair dresser we went. She did pretty good but I don't think it hurt that she could watch tv and got to sit in a car while the lady did it and of course the lollipop afterwards helped too. We didn't have her cut much, just trim it all around a little so hopefully it will lay a little nicer. She also showed me where she is still getting lots of new hair so hopefully with that and her new cut we'll have more growing soon.

I was impressed that she didn't even pay any attention to the little boy who was getting his hair cut when we got there. He was being held down by his dad and just screaming as the lady cut his hair. I think if that was my kid I'd just let him have long hair.
