Thumbs

It's looking like Hannah is going to be more of a thumb sucker instead of a binky baby like her sister. I've started to let her cry a little before rushing to pick her up right away. Don't worry, I only let her cry for a minute or two, I'm not letting her really Cry It Out at 4 months. Anyways, the other day when I let her cry for a minute she suddenly stopped and this is what I found.

She's been doing it more and more too lately. She will take a binky but only for a minute or two and then just spits it out.

The Fountain

The outdoor mall near our house has one of those fountains where the water shoots up out of the ground. I don't know if this was their intention when they built it but when it gets hot tons of people bring their kids there just to pkay in the water. It was 95 degrees this weekend and Colin had to work so I decided to take the girls to the fountain. Lily had a blast once she got brave enogh to go in. She loves to play in water but I think maybe the noise of the water scared her at first. Once I got her all wet by splashing her (I know I'm a mean mom) she went in with no problem.

I knit

I wasn't busy enough so I decided to teach myself how to knit. So far I've made two hats, a pair of pants that I never finished and these shorts for Lily. I still have some things I need to work on but I think they turned out pretty good.

I will have to try and get a picture with some better lighting and Lily actually wearing them.

Spring is in the air

I saw this picture and got a laugh out of it. Now that it is warming up I love to sit out on the deck with a nice cool drink in the evenings.

Williamsburg

My Grandma happened to be in Williamsburg yesterday with a tour group she is traveling around with so I packed up the girls and drove the hour so we could see her. I haven't seen her since my Grandfather's funeral a couple years ago and she had never met Lily or Hannah so we took the opportunity to spend a bit of time with her. I think Lily was a little confused because I kept saying Grandma and she knows who her Grandma is and was pretty sure this wasn't her. Unfortunately the weather wasn't cooperating and it was pretty rainy but luckily we got a chance to sit inside the restaurant her group was eating lunch at and chat for a little while. The girls were nice enough to nap on the way there and on the way home too so it was a nice quiet drive for me.

Daddy's Helper

Colin was working on sprucing up the swing set this weekend so it would be a little more user friendly for the little one. She loves being outside and will spend hours walking around the yard picking up sticks and acorns, it doesn't matter to her. So of course since Colin was outside Lily had to be out there too. He got the swing set all fixed up for her and of course is rainy, cold, and cloudy again this week.

Breakfast of Champions

Ok, so it isn't the healthiest breakfast ever and this was actually mine and Lily's dinner the other night, not even breakfast time. Lily selected Cinnamon Toast Crunch with a glass of whole milk while I decided on Captain Crunch with a nutritous Diet Coke.....and mom of the year award goes to, someone else.
