Dinner conversation with Lily

This is exactly how it went last night.

Lily: Yogurt?
Me: You just had yogurt, do you want dinner?
Lily: Moomies (smoothie)?
Me: No, you can have dinner, how about raviolois?
Lily: Nuh uh
Me: Macaroni and cheese?
Lily: Nuh uh
Me: Spaghetti?
Lily: Cake!

So I made an executive decision and we went with the spaghetti.....this is how it ended.

Update: My Plan

Well, Friday was week two so another binky bit the dust. It did not go over so well when she tried to use it after I put a hole in it. Now the two sit out on the coffee table all the time but she rarely even looks at them Every once in awhile she will forget and pick one upand put it in her mouth but then she takes it out right away and puts it back down. I am thinking my plan may actually work but this is not a speedy plan, she's got about 6 more intact binkys still.

My mom makes my clothes

I made the cutest top for Lily and think it turned out great for my first time using this patter, AND I used the automatic buttonhole foot on my sewing machine which is not as automatic as it sounds.

She won't stand still for pictures anymore so lately they all look like this......blurry

Colin says other kids will make fun of her. My mom made some of my clothes when I was little so I say if it was good enough for me it's good enough for my kids.

You know you're a mom when...

This afternoon I hid in the bathroom so I could eat the last donut without having to share it with Lily. She stood on the other side of the door knocking thw whole time and when I came out she said "Mama, I find you".

My plan

Lily is very attached to her binkys. She is almost two and according to my mother she should should have been off of them by one but I just didn't have the heart to take them away. Right now she can only have them at nap and night time. She always has two too, one in her mouth and the second one she holds in her hand and rubs on the side of her face like a lot of kids do with a stuffed animal or blanket. So, my plan is this, I will cut a small hole in one of her binkys every week until they are all "broken". I put a hole in one today and it didn't go quite as planned. I took her oldest one that she doesn't use much anymore to start with. She asked for it so I gave it to her with the hole. She took the binky put it in her mouth and took it right back out. She looked at it kind of funny but put it back in and went to play. She walked over to Hannah who was in her swing and talked to her for a minute and then went over to her toys. When I looked at what she was doing I realized that she had pulled a switcheroo on me. When she went over to the swing she took Hannah's binky and left Hannah the one with the hole in it. What a nice big sister. I did give her non hole binkys when she went down for her nap but since she got up she has looked at the one with the hole a couple of times but doesn't want it. I know my plan will take some time but hopefully it will slowly taper her off the binky.

From this to this.....

We went from 20's and 6 inches of snow to 80 and sunny. It was so beautiful here this passed weekend. We did a lot of playing outside which Lily loves but absolutely HATES having to come inside afterwards. We are going to have to work on that before summer. We also went to Colin's brothers to celebrate my nieces birthday. Lily loved the ice cream cake.

Snow Day!

We got quite a bit of snow the other day and Lily had a blast playing in it. She screamed when Colin brought her back inside. It was nice to see but I won't be sad when it hits 70 this weekend.
