We had our first really cold day last week so I thought it would be the perfect time to make some chili. I thought it would be the perfect day to make some since we even had a few flurries that day. The recipe I use is really easy and since I am the only person in the house who actually eats it I make a big batch and put it in smaller containers in the freezer, each one is enough for two meals for me (usually for lunch).
- 1lb. ground beef
- one can tomato sauce
- one can diced tomatoes
- beans (your choice, this time I used one can pinto and one can kidney because that is what I had in the pantry)
- one package chili seasoning
I brown the ground beef with some dried onion and garlic. I am sure that may make some people cringe but we are not big fans of either in our house so rarely do I buy fresh. I toss the ground beef in the crock pot with everything else and let it cook for a few hours. I also like mine a little spicy so add some chili powder.
